Trucks have many uses. You can buy one if you have a large family and like to go camping. You may purchase one and pile all your friends into it to go on that road trip you have been discussing for so many years.

Also, you can use trucks to make money, though. There are several viable business models involving trucks, and we’ll talk about five of them in detail right now.

If one of them sounds good to you, your next step might be to find an international truck dealer and get yourself a suitable one without delay.

5 Business Models that Involve a Truck

Business Models that Involve a Truck

1. Collecting Scrap Metal

Collecting scrap metal is one of the easiest things you can do with a truck. All you need is a strong back and a route to the nearest scrap metal yard that pays for it.

With this business model, you’re your own boss. You make your own hours and work only when it is convenient. You can roll through neighborhoods looking for scrap metal, or you can look on Craigslist and similar sites for scrap metal pieces that people are giving away.

2. A Food Truck

You can also get a truck powerful enough to haul equipment for food preparation and sales. And use the truck as the kitchen and the prep area as well.

You can set up shop at festivals or anywhere else you are liable to get sales. Just make sure you are legally authorized to sell food, or you could get in trouble with the city or township where you live.

3. Home Renovations

If you have some skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and so forth, you might offer your services to anyone who needs work done on their house. You can put all your supplies in the truck and bring them with you to the jobsite.

If you do this, make sure you are licensed and insured. Otherwise, homeowners might be reluctant to hire you.

4. Roofing

You might work as a roofer. Roofing skills come in handy, and you can keep loads of shingles, tools, your ladder, and anything else you need in the truck.

Similar to home renovations or improvements, you must have a license and insurance to work as a roofer. A truck will certainly come in handy if you can work out all of the other requirements, though.

5. Pest Control

You can set yourself up as a pest control specialist. That usually requires a license and insurance as well.

Once you have those, you can load up your truck with barrels of chemicals you’ll use to spray for ants, cockroaches, rodents, and other pests. You can keep all of your equipment back there. You can make very respectable money in the pest control game, and it’s interesting work.

Further, you can probably think of other work-related reasons to buy a truck. Many business models start with just a vehicle, and if you’re creative and motivated, there’s no reason why you can’t use your truck as an integral part of your job.
