Once you’ve decided to move home, selling your existing place quickly and pain-free is at the top of the agenda.

However, this is usually easier said than done. Getting your home off the market and being able to move on can end up taking a lot of time if you don’t take the right measures in the first place.

Start your process off correctly to get the ball rolling and you’ll have a sale under your belt in no time! Check out how below.

5 Ways To Quickly Sell Your Home

How To Sell Your Home Quickly

1. Use a Realtor

Real estate agents can come at a price, however, they will be the best chances you have for a speedy sale. With years of training and practice, these professionals will know how to market your home correctly and get it placed in prime advertising places. You may consider hiring sales agents for commission, to work purely on commission.

Not only that, they will have a roster of existing clients, not only people who want to sell but also people who want to buy. They may already have an idea of the perfect buyer right up their sleeve and will get you a fair price.

2. Fix Obvious Issues

Of course, you don’t want to plunge all of your savings into a home you won’t be living in, but using a bit of your rainy-day fund to fix up any glaringly obvious problems will make your home much more appealing to buyers.

Aesthetic quick fixes are the easiest and cheapest problems to solve such as reattaching cabinet doors that are hanging off, removing visible mold and damp, and replacing broken fixtures such as ovens and washers. Get rid of old peeling wallpaper and add a coat of paint to shabby walls and baseboards so that your walls look as good as new.

3. Scrub And Polish

Having a clean home will entice new buyers as the home will feel fresh. Make sure all of your carpets are vacuumed and stains removed. Make sure your tiling has been scrubbed and your refrigerator and stove are sparkling.

Kitchens and bathrooms should be paid special attention to as they should be the cleanest area in a home. Scrub your toilet until it’s clean enough to eat from!

4. Clear Out Your Yard

First impressions count, so make sure that our front yard has maximum curb appeal with a good old tidy-up. Fix broken paving stones, mow your lawn and weed the flower beds.

Plant new shrubs and greenery along your property line to look nice and add some lighting around your front door. If you have space on either side of the door, add some nice potted bushes or flowers and consider giving the door itself a lick of paint.

5. Make It Light

Light and airy homes are the most sought after, so make sure your drapes are thrown back and allow as much light to flow into the room as possible.

If you’re not blessed with natural lighting then fake it till you make it with artfully placed lamps and ceiling lighting. Use wall mirrors to make the space look bigger and brighter.
